Ysilla haven't seen a mammoth, grannynuncle said they are like elephants, but she hasn't seen one of those either. So can't imagine that. Laena is nothing like the blinking dots up in the sky that someone decided that looked like a dragon if lines are drawn between them, she doesn't quite see the resemblance, and why would they call it the Ice Dragon anyway?

Maybe with all that fire inside it some dragons spend time up north to cool down? Always ice up there if you go far enough. And even if your careful your like to find some ice forming on your clothing, or in your eyelashes. That must be it, Mikel says. Somebody saw a dragon with ice in its lashes. Ice Dragon. But he wasn't sure how it related to Laena either. Or rather I believe I could take an educated guess but I'll keep that to myself. Somehow that lead to Mikel guessing which sort of Dragon Ysilla preferred to be thought of as, among his guesses were a bouncey dragon, a snoring dragon, or a furry dragon. Not that he had good reason for any of those guesses, but reasoning was best left out of this sort of conversation.

Ysilla doesn't appear convinced, but then again, people acted silly most of the time without actually enjoying it. Weird, isn't it?

Before leaving Mikel asks where Ysilla might be found after his return from the Riverlands.

Wherever there is fun, someone's going to have a party. With sister Mya staying at Goldengrove, maybe she'll keep her company? Sister Gwenys must bore her to tears.

As it happens, Ser Jasper has a mind to join the Blackwoods to prove his valor, it was after all a Bracken Raid upon Riverthorn that triggered this whole affair, unmarked sellswords aye, but a roaming band of outlaws taking the holdfast of a knight? Not even in places where every able-bodied man trains with the militia every week does that sound plausible. Lord Walgrave claims it's Bloodraven's doing to frame the Brackens as monsters, but Jasper has yet to see any proof of any of the treachery or witchcraft Ser Brynden has been accused of. But any man present at the Black Tourney who would dispute that the Brackens have monsters among them must have very different memories of those twelve days. Ser Jasper was welcomed in to the fold as another sword in the Riverlands, Roland sharing his appraisal of the Bracken raid. Ideally a Blackwood squire could be found for the man, to better judge his hot temper. Still, a knight should be passionate if that passion is driven by a noble heart, so Roland did not attempt to quell the flames in his fellow young gallant. The would be Lord Cordwayner did all he could to bring around the noble knights that counted themselves among Blackfyre's friends. He and Redtusk were firm friends, and the younger Roland had made a good impression on Ser Aubrey Ambrose at the Black Tourney. Lord Rowan's wise advice did not go unheeded - the wiley plotter had found an easy piece to maneuver.
