Trystane sensibly makes sure he is nowhere near when the catastrophe ensues. Though in securing his alibi, he is not present to aid his accomplices. When he hears about what occurred, the predominant feeling he experiences (and has to carefully conceal) is frustration, but part of him is also relieved that at least he did stay away and avoid being recognised. There was likely no way he could have made it go sufficiently better. Or maybe it would have made all the difference. Now, he'd never know.
Fuck!
Fuck fuck fucking fuck! Fuck that lucky little shit! It should have been a sure thing!
There was potentially time to find some of the local riff-raff to try something sneakier, but it would likely be cancelled out by everyone associated with Eoric being on high alert. What a mess. Trystane realises too late that he should have gone with the ruffians first, keeping the hedge knights in reserve as assistance in the melee if the first plan didn't work. Now, he had to deal with this by himself in the melee, with no backup, and he'd have to fight his way through first.
What if that fails too? Why the fuck did I agree to kill someone I couldn't beat in a fight? he thinks to himself, a creeping dread encircling his heart as he thinks on the upcoming melee.
Because you have a brain and a cock, but only enough blood to work one at a time, came the mocking voice from the back of his mind.
Oh well, he thinks to himself, at least they won't be coming back wanting the other half of the money.
