Ser Jonothor switches to his bigger sword to wield in both hands, his swing is hardly as accurate.
CD 12 (9) AR 11 Health 12 (Tough) Fatigue: 2 Lesser: Draws Bastard sword to wield in both hands (drops longsword). Regular Attack: 6d6k5+1 14 pffftt. Takes fatigue if attacked.

CD: 16 per CA (13) AR: 11 Health: 2/12 I/W/F: 1/0/1
LA 1 [P2 Answering Insult v. Jon] Cautious Attack: 7d6k4 21 2 DoS 12 dmg - 11 AR = 1 damage [P2 Answering Insult v. Jon] Cautious Attack - Talented reroll TN 4: 1d6 2 No change
LA 2 [P2 Answering Insult v. Jon] Manuever/Cautious Attack: 7d6k4 19 [P2 Answering Insult v. Jon] Manuever/Cautious Attack Reroll v. TN 2: 1d6 1 No change
Mikel had not considered that Jonothor might be armed with a second sword when he had entered the challenge grounds but he stuck to his plan regardless. Now he decided to pick his points of attack carefully and take care not to take a heavy slash or thrust from Ser Jonothor. Mikel had the advantage of a shield and meant to use it.
[OOC: I had a plan, but realized I had misunderstood movement/charge rules. Original intention was to move just far enough for Jon to waste a LA to come after me, but I think that put me in charge range. To charge one must simply be 'within movement x2', correct? If that isn't correct, and I had known that, I would have went with moving away as a LA. So maneuver was my salvage, but feels like a wasted roll, I hoped it might at least absorb another Fatigue but pretty sure it wouldn't apply.]

Ser Jonothor starts to slow, and throwing caution to the wind, but a lesser knight than Mikel would likely be dead by now.

CD: 8 (13) AR: 11 Health: 3/12 I/W/F: 3/0/1 (2 after turn)
Free Action - Drop Shield, two hands on sword
LA 1 and LA2, aim + reckless attack [P2 Anwering Insult v. Jon] Aim + Reckless Attack (2 handed): 9d6k6-4 22 4 DoS - 4x8=32-11=21 damage
+1 Fatigue for additional LA - pick up shield
And down again. It frustrated Mikel but Ser Jonothers sword brought him back and the moment after he felt the strike he realized that Jonothor had gotten sloppy, throwing himself into his attack. Mikel prized precision and efficiency over brute force and throwing oneself heedlessly into another, but he knew an opportunity when he saw it and just now he saw the spot under Jonothers arm that armor didn't cover and dropping his shield, put everything he had into connecting with it, then desperately picking his shield back up.

CD: 8 (13) AR: 11 Health: 3/12 I/W/F: 3/1/3
*Take 1 fatigue to ignore 1 wound
Style: Reckless LA 1: Aim LA 2: Standard Attack
[P2 Answering Insult v. Jon] Reckless, Aim + Attack (+2-6): 9d6k6-4 20 4 DoS = 6×4 = 24 - 11 AR = 13 dmg
Jonothor's next attack seemed intended to back Mikel off, but the next one came from over head and zipped toward Mikel's head with all Jonothors strength, his shoulders came down and he even dropped his hips to add weight to his already notable strength. Mikel had his shield and brought it up to defend against the attack. When the sword hit it Mikel heard a pop in his shield arm and it suddenly went numb from wrist to elbow. Broke. A subconscious realization more then a thought. Mikel let loose a heavy thrust high in the thigh or groin of Ser Jonother, confident he found an opening.

CD: 8 (13) AR: 11 Health: 3/12 I/W/F: 3/1/4
*Take one point of fatigue to ignore one wound
LA 1 [P2 Answering Insult v. Jon] Reckless + Knockdown: 5d6-5 17 - 2 more (over sight) = 15, I believe a success given he has taken 1 wound
Free Action: Drop Shield (I would like to think its on the sling strap, on him, but don't know how relevant/allowed that is)
LA 2
[P2 Answering Insult v. Jon] Reckless + Standard (two handed) Attack v. Prone: 8d6k5-5 18 [P2 Answering Insult v. Jon] Reckless + Standard (two handed) Attack v. Prone - Talented Reroll TN 2: 1d6 4 18 + 2 = 20 for 2 DoS 9x2=18-11=7 damage
Mikel's aggression against Ser Jonothor had won him back the initiative - Ser Jonothor was now reacting to him. Mikel saw it in his posture, the way his stance changed, the angle of his sword. Mikel scooted forward to get one foot behind Jonothors lead foot then kicked his other foot into Jonothors hips, hard. Jonothor was unable to catch himself and as he fell Mikel threw himself forward, sword first, looking for the closest gap in his armor.
[OOC: I counted the fatigue to ignore wound as something which only covered one action, was that correct? I don't think it matters given the result, but for future reference. Thanks!]

Reckless does not apply to knockdown since that's athletics, still, you'd have to beat 16 (wounds doesn't reduce passive results). Thus he is not knocked down, and you don't gain +1b, given how Talented works, we'll just keep the 8k5 roll, for 18 which is still 2 DoS, but 8x2-11=5 because non-prone. CD 12 (9) AR 11 Health 1/12 (Tough) Injuries: 4 Fatigue: 3 Wounds: 1 Aim+cautious Attack: 9d6k3-2 15I believe that is 3*9-11=16 because dropping the shield with Reckless is another 4 off the CD.

CD: 16 (13) AR: 11 Health: 3/12 I/W/F: 3/2/4
Stance: Cautious LA1: Picks up shield LA2: Moves two yards away
Ser Jonother may have reeled but recovered quickly. Mikel knew continuing to throw himself at him was the wrong strategy. He needed to collect himself, then hurt him. Jonother looked like Mikel felt, so he knew thus wouldnt last much longer either way.
[OOC: Sent father a PM regarding the knockdown from last turn, and this turn which was posted before the knockdown post in mech. Dis.]

Ser Jonothor, bruised bloodied and possibly dead, his body yet to inform him of that fact, yields. Ser Mikel isn't in that much of a better shape, but his opponent has no intention to die for an insult and he does not wish to take the chance of Mikel being willing to die for the victory. For a moment that he now rues, he had hoped that he might goad a Starkwood knight, or best of all, Ser Symon or Lord Ulbert, into being willing do die for Ashara and oblige them, for a moment that he also now rues, he had hoped that Mikel might be willing to die in their stead and oblige him. A cause wasn't won by dying for it in fair fights, usually it was won by making others die for theirs in unfair fights.
As per mechanical discussion thread, the knockdown score to beat was 14, which is what you'd get if the non-counted die from Reckless happened to be a 1, and since I rolled for which die to throw away which happens to be a 1 If this is a 5: 1d5 5, means knockdown, means he took 7 damage, means he'd take wound #2 instead of injury #4, so instead of making that last attack, he yields.

Mikel had brought his sword in and had nearly pushed out with another heavy thrust when he realized Ser Jonothor had yielded. He froze for a moment, staring. When he was satisfied it wasn't a ruse Mikel pushed himself up, collected his shield, and went to his Rousey. Mikel knelt and spoke quietly to it. He hadn't had it long, but it fought to the death for him. He sheathed his sword then stroked its mane as he said goodbye. Then he rose and walked to his Lord and his Lady. Shield slung over his back incase more unexpected trouble were to occur, Mikel knelt before Lord Ulbert and said nothing. Nothing needs to be said. Rising he took up a position nearby and was as vigilant as he could be despite the distraction of the pain. An ankle, a knee, a should, and worse of all his arm. He figured his armor would keep his arm secure enough until this ended and then Maester Ronnel could see to him properly.
